3743443 - "Attachment field validation error. dap is required and cannot be empty" while trying to save Personal related entities using PPX Edit - 1H 2026

• When attempting to save records in Personal related entities (such as Personal Information, Global Information, Dependents, Address Information, National ID or Work Permit) using PPX Edit, the system throws the following error "Attachment field validation error. dap is required and cannot be empty."
• The issue occurs when an attachment is present in either the parent or child entity. Saving the record works successfully only when no attachment is maintained in both parent and child entities.

Scenario 1: Global Information

1. Navigate to the employee profile.
2. Go to Personal Information.
3. Click on Edit.
4. Add an attachment to the Personal Information section.
5. Now make some changes to the Global Information section.
6. Click Save -> Error message is thrown.
   

Scenario 2: Dependents

1. Navigate to the employee profile.
2. Go to Dependents card.
3. Click on Add/Edit Existing Dependent.
4. Add an attachment to the Relationship Information Section.
   
5. Make Changes to any other entity such as Global Information, Address information etc.
6. Click Save -> Error message is thrown.
   

The same issue can be reproduced in other Personal related entities such as Address Information, National Id Work Permit, by adding an attachment to the record (or having an attachment in a related parent/child entity) and attempting to save using PPX Edit.

• Product Engineering is investigating the issue.
• This KBA will be updated once the fix details are confirmed.

Workaround:

• Temporarily disable the switch "Enable the latest Editing and History UI for Employee Central entities on full Profile" via Admin Center -> Configure Latest People Profile.
