3743446 - Sales Volume - Flexible Analysis: net value differs from document amounts

Symptom

When using the app 'Sales Volume - Flexible Analysis', there are discrepancies between the net value and the actual amount in the documents.

For example, a billing document with a net value of EUR 1000 was cancelled. Instead of showing EUR 0, the Net Value is adding up the net values of both documents to EUR 2000.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

This is the correct system behavior. The Net Value field sums up the original values of items in all types of billing documents (including cancellation documents), without considering analytical relevance.

Resolution

To analyze achieved sales, it's recommended to use the field Sales Volume rather than Net Value.

As per the first example, when cancelling a billing document with a net value of EUR 1000. The Net Value would add up the net values of both documents to EUR 2000, whereas Sales Volume would produce an aggregate result of zero.
