Symptom
- An item with an upcoming class is part of a curriculum and the learner sees the “Register Now” button on the new curriculum page.
- When clicking “Register Now”, an application error appears and registration cannot be completed.
- Caused by: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Define tag cannot set a null value.
- Error message = An exception occurred processing [/user/common/registration.jsp].

Reproducing the Issue
- Locate a curriculum that includes an item with an upcoming class >
- Open the curriculum and go to the Assignments page >
- Click “Register Now” for the class >
- Observe the application error and the failure to complete registration.
Resolution

Workaround
Users can register for the class by clicking the item from the Curricula Assignments page > Upcoming Classes section.
