Symptom
It is necessary to restrict the access of users to the field Net Value in Sales Orders
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
As per SAP standard documentation, role-based access to price elements applies only to pricing elements in the price elements area such as condition types and assigned subtotals (for example discounts, internal cost, margin).
Sales Order Net Value field (header and item) is a document total and is not part of the price elements area controlled by access levels. Therefore, Net Value cannot be hidden via access level configuration. This behavior applies consistently in Manage Sales Orders – Version 2 as well as in the Create Sales Orders - VA01 app.
If an user is authorized to display or approve a sales order, the Net Value will be visible by design. There is no standard configuration, authorization object, or authorization check in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to suppress Net Value visibility for sales orders.
Resolution
If this setting is required for any specific business process, it is necessary to submit a Feature Request via the Customer Influence Portal, where our Product Management team reviews and prioritizes enhancements based on customer input.
