Symptom
When applying a column-level filter on the Total field (e.g., Total = 0.00) in the Sales Orders view and exporting the data to Microsoft Excel, the exported file does not reflect the applied filter.
In certain cases, the exported file may appear blank or may not contain the expected records. Instead, the output only includes data based on the criteria maintained in the Advanced Filter section.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Sales Orders work center.
- Open the Sales Orders view.
- Maintain selection criteria in the Advanced Filter section (e.g., Account ID and Posting Date), and choose Go.
- Apply a column-level filter on the Total column (e.g., set Total = 0.00).
- Select Export → To Microsoft Excel.
- Open the exported file.
The exported file does not consider the column-level filter and may either appear blank or include records that do not match the applied Total = 0.00 condition.
Cause
The export functionality only considers filters defined in the Advanced Filter section.
Column-level filters (such as filtering the Total column to 0.00) are applied only to the on-screen view and are not included in the exported Microsoft Excel file
Resolution
This is standard system behavior.
To ensure the expected results during export:
- Maintain all required selection criteria in the Advanced Filter section before exporting the data.
- If filtering by specific values (for example, Total = 0.00) is required, include the same condition in the Advanced Filter (if available).
- Alternatively, export the data based on the Advanced Filter criteria and then apply additional filters (such as Total = 0.00) directly in Microsoft Excel after the export.
