Symptom

  • Short dump during user maintenance: DBSQL_DUPLICATE_KEY_ERROR (CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB) in program SAPLSUID_IDENTITY, routine SUID_IDENTITY_SAVE_TO_DB; termination point reported at line 251 of include LSUID_IDENTITYU01 with text “Open SQL array insert produces duplicate records in the database.”
  • The dump occurs when creating a user in SU01.
  • The same dump occurs when adding roles to an existing user.
  • When initiated from a java stack using abap as ume repository, the following is observed: “com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (104) JCO_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: Open SQL array insert produces duplicate records in the database. Message 286 of class AM type W, Par[1]: ADRCT …”
  • Database is SAP ASE (any version).
