Symptom

Job Code Association with Multiple Job Roles is set per the guide: Job Code Association with Multiple Job Roles | SAP Help Portal, however when trying to add 1 job code to several job roles, this job code cannot be selected in more than job role.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactor Job Profile Builder

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Job Code Association with Multiple Job Roles is set.
  2. A certain job code is mapped to 1 role with a unique custom field association.
  3. Open a 2nd job role in Manage Job Profile Content.
  4. Verify that this role also has unique custom field association, different from the step 1 role.
  5. Attempt to add the same job code to the role.
  6. Observe that the intended job code does not appear in search results and cannot be selected.

Cause

This is expected behaviour due to validation on the Manage Job Profile Content page.

The validation restricts adding duplicated job codes in the multiple job roles per job code scenario in Manage Job Profile Content.

Resolution

Map the job code to  job roles using one of the following methods:

  • Go to Admin Center > Manage Data, select job role Role, and then select an appropriate job code.

  • Go to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export and select Role-Job Codes in the Type field. You can then import a file with the necessary details.
