Symptom
The status of a data product doesn’t change to listed and returns to draft after attempting to list it multiple times.
Environment
- SAP Datasphere
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the target data product in Data Marketplace.
- Click "Switch Status" -> "List"; the lifecycle status changes to Listing.
- After approximately 1–2 hours, the lifecycle status automatically reverts to Draft.
Cause
A known defect prevents a Data Product from remaining listed after a failed extraction to the UCL system when the same technical name is reused after deleting and recreating the product; this sequence causes the status to revert to Draft.
Resolution
Workaround: Recreate the data product using a different (new) technical name; do not reuse the previous technical name.
Solution: A fix for this issue was created and it will be available to you via SAP Datasphere Wave 2026.10. Please see SAP Note 2984828 - SAP Datasphere Release & Delivery Schedule regarding the planned availability of the fix.
As global deployment usually takes 24 hours, you may plan to test the fix one day later.
