SAP Knowledge Base Article - PublicSymptom
After the 1H 2026 Release, the error below started occurring in EmpJob OData API Upserts:
"Maximum length limit exceeded for field eeo1JobCategory: actual length: 33; maximum length: 32."
However, when checking this field configuration, it has a maximum length of 256.

The fix for this behavior is scheduled to be deployed on 2605.p5 expected to be delivered on May 19th (subject to changes)
Workaround
Use the Picklist option ID instead in your upsert payload.
