Symptom
- When adding users to a permission group, users with identical display names appear as indistinguishable entries in search results.
- Searching by a person's name returns all users with the same name.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a permission group and choose to add users.
- Enter a user's name in the search field.
- Observe that multiple users with the same name are returned without a way to distinguish them.
Cause
Searching by name returns all users sharing that display name, and the add-user list does not provide additional identifiers to differentiate them.
Resolution
- Use the user's Username as the search keyword when adding users to a permission group.
- Select the intended user from the results and add the user to the group.
