3745731 - Incorrect VAT registration number used in Billing document and VAT control report- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• A VAT registration number change was made effective on DD.MM.YYYY in the Business Partner; however, the field is not time-dependent.
• When creating billing documents or accounting invoices (manually or via integration) with a billing date prior to DD.MM.YYYY, the VAT registration number cannot be modified.
• As a result, the billing documents and VAT control report reflect the current VAT registration number instead of the historical one.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Change the VAT registration number in BP.
2. Create a billing document and set the billing date before the BP modification. 
3. Confirm the VAT number in the billing document.

The VAT registration number in Business Partner data is not time-dependent; the system always uses the latest value maintained.

1. For manually created billing documents only: overwrite the VAT registration number on the billing document during manual creation (via VF01 – Create Billing Document). Note: documents created via integration cannot be adjusted this way.
2. Adjust the VAT registration number directly in the VAT control report.

3. Temporary Change in Business Partner (If Business Permits)

   If it does not impact other business processes, may consider temporarily reverting the VAT Registration Number in the Business Partner master data back to the previous value. After completing the billing documents and VAT Control Report, the VAT number can then be changed back to the new value.
