3745838 - Card editable for users without permission and error message displayed if try to Add Alternative Cost Distribution - 1H2026

Symptom

Alternative Cost Distribution card is visible with Add button in the Latest People profile even when employee do not have permission to edit it. When try to add a record error "no data available or you do not have the necessary permission." is thrown.

Manager only has permission to edit and view their direct reports' Alternative Cost Distribution card but is able to see it in other user's Employee Profile.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proxy as user that has permissions to View Current, View History, Create and Insert on Alternative Cost Distribution 
  2. Go to the Employee Profile of a user that is not in the target population of the permission role
  3. On Job Data category
  4. Card Alternative Cost Distribution is visible and editable
  5. Click on Add
  6. Screen opens, but error "No data available or you do not have the necessary permissions" is thrown and user is not able to save any changes.

Resolution

Product engineering has fixed the issue via patch scheduled on 12th May 2026. The fix will be added to production with the 1H 2026 release.
