Symptom
Manager does not see mentor approval notification on the home page after changing the mentor approval method from administrator approval to manager approval for an in‑progress open enrollment mentoring program; no email notification or home page to‑do item appears; approval remains in pending status in manage mentoring.
Environment
- Product: SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development
Reproducing the Issue
- Create or open an in‑progress open enrollment Mentoring Program and have a participant sign up as a mentor.
- Change the mentor approval method from Administrator approval to Manager approval while the program is in progress.
- Proxy as the mentor’s manager and go to the Home page.
- Check the To Do section: no mentor approval item is displayed, and no email notification is received.
Resolution
Fix will be available on 2H2026 release which are scheduled below:

Workaround:
1. For all pending approval mentors before switching approval method to manager approval, after switching it, kindly suggest admin to inform them go mentoring homepage (end-user page) and click resend request on yellow message strip to the top of the program card. This will trigger email sending to their manager and creating homepage cards. (please see attached screenshot)
2. Kindly suggest admin to approve / decline all pending mentors then switching approval method to manager approval
