Symptom
- Pay grade fields added from Compensation Information return blank/null values in Story reports.
- The same pay grade data is visible in the UI.
- Selecting pay grade fields from Job Information returns data in Story reports.
- No error messages are displayed.
Environment
- Product: Story report
- Data Modelling - Module & Entity Data Issues
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a new Story report.
- Build a query on the Compensation Information object.
- Add pay grade-related field from Compensation Information.
- Run Preview/Execute the query.
- Observe that pay grade-related fields return blank/null values.
- Add pay grade from Job Information instead and observe that data is returned.
Cause
- Usage of pay grade in Compensation Information is deprecated. The correct source for pay grade is the Job Information object. The Compensation Information data model definition for pay grade is not supported.
Resolution
Use the Check Tool to identify any deprecated elements that are still in use in your Succession Data Model.
Navigate to Check Tool → System Health → Employee Central Core → List of Deprecated Elements to run the check.
While deprecated fields may still be available for selection in Story Reports, selecting these fields will not return any data in the report.
