3745958 - Products appear multiple times as search results in the product catalog.

Symptom

In the product catalog search, a single product appears multiple times in the search results, despite being one and the same product with the same product ID.

Environment

SAP CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go To quotes
  2. Open quote 
  3. Click on the Catalogue 
  4. Search for product
  5. Multiply products same ID

Cause

A product belongs to multiple categories, and when searching for a product from its parent category, you will see it as many times as it can be found in all nested categories (parent and all of its children categories).

Resolution

  • Remodel either by reducing the number of categories or by changing visibility permissions.

  • For example, if you keep the product only in the last category in the hierarchy, you will be able to see it in parent categories as well when performing a search.
