Symptom

  • Can we remain on OpenText 21.4 with Basic Authentication beyond the 1H 2026 Production release
  • Deprecation of Basic Authentication for OpenText and the timelines

Cause

Resolution

  • Basic Authentication enters end of maintenance with the 1H 2026 release. Existing customers using Basic Authentication can continue without immediate impact until 2H 2026.
  • New customers will not be able to use Basic Authentication starting 1H 2026.
  • Customers who switch to OAuth will not be able to revert back to Basic Authentication.
  • Customers are advised to plan migration to OAuth before 2H 2026, when Basic Authentication will be fully deprecated.

  • The deprecation documentation and this Knowledge article will be updated to clearly highlight key timelines and restrictions.
