3746836 - Cannot start ResourceAdapter "inboundRA"

Symptom

The InboundRA is failing to start and the error below can be found in the default trace:

  •  Cannot start ResourceAdapter "inboundRA" from application "sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.sapjra.inboundRA".

This leads to issues when performing an IDOC RFC connection test, with errors like:

  • "you cannot use the gateway as a proxy for this connection"
  • "Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT', communication rc: CM_ALLOCATE_FAILURE_RETRY (cmRc=2)). ERROR: Transaction program not registered"
