3747002 - Not possible to Publish to Live Profile with Latest People Profile - Compensation

Symptom

When publishing to the Live Profile, the job completes successfully, but the data is not published after enabling the Latest People Profile.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Complete Compensation Cycle under the compensation template
  2. Go to Publish dropdown and select Publish in Live Profile
  3. Publish is successful but data is no longer available in Latest People Profile

Cause

The Publish to Live Profile feature sends data to the standard background element “compensation.” However, with the adoption of the Latest People Profile, standard background elements are no longer supported for display.

Resolution

As a workaround, create a custom background element that can be added to the Latest People Profile, using the same fields as the standard compensation background element. Then export the Background Information via Export Extended User Information and import it into the custom background element.

The published data will continue to flow into the standard background element, but it will not automatically populate the custom background element card in the profile. Each time a publish occurs, you will need to export the data from Export Extended User Information and re-import it into the custom background element.
