3747057 - SFTP Connection Warning in FileZilla – “Insecure Algorithms”

Symptom

Customers connecting to SAP SuccessFactors SFTP servers using FileZilla may encounter the following warning message: "The SFTP server you are connecting to uses insecure algorithms. If you proceed, your login credentials and any data exchanged with this server could get compromised."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Cause

This warning is triggered due to updates in OpenSSH, and that is the reason why customer gets the ssh-rsa (insecure) notification.

Resolution

  • SAP SuccessFactors SFTP servers remain secure, and there is no evidence that customer credentials or transferred files are being compromised due to this warning.
  • The message is informational and reflects updated client-side security policies rather than an active security risk.
  • Customers can proceed with the connection.
