aRFC calling CLASS=CL_FINCS_ICMR_EXEC_PFW_1->ICMR_PARALLEL_PROCESSING(...) crashes with: "field symbol has not been assigned yet." (Message no. FIN_CS_MESSAGE001).

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Consolidation Monitor for the intended version, fiscal year, period, and consolidation chart of accounts.
2. Select the relevant consolidation group and consolidation unit(s).
3. Run task 2042 – IC balance sheet elimination.
4. Observe that processing is canceled with FIN_CS_MESSAGE001 and CX_SHDB_PFW_EXCEPTION details; an aRFC crash indicates "field symbol has not been assigned yet."

The "Segment" and "Partner Segment" fields are not activated with "Enable input" "Enable master data" in the Consolidation Master Data configuration (SSCUI: Configure Consolidation Master Data Fields), which leads to the runtime exception during ICMR parallel processing.

1. Open the SSCUI for Configure Consolidation Master Data Fields.
2. Locate the fields "Segment" and "Partner Segment" in the Consolidation Master Data.
3. Activate these fields and set the "enable input" flag for both.
4. Save and transport/confirm the configuration as required by your governance process.
5. Rerun task 2042 – IC balance sheet elimination in the Consolidation Monitor.
6. Verify that processing completes without FIN_CS_MESSAGE001 and that no aRFC crash occurs.
