3747256 - BDC_RFC_S4 connection fails with SSL handshake error

Symptom

  • When trying to include a S/4HANA private cloud to the BDC formation, the outbound connection in the S/4 backend popup the error :

Error occurred while validating connection BDC_RFC_S4
An error occurred while establishing http client connection
SSL handshake with xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx

  • Meanwhile, performing the connection test in SM59 will also return the SSL handshake error:
