3747281 - Connection to SAP HANA via hdbuserstore failed (SQL Error -10757)

Symptom

An SAP ABAP system terminates with a Shortdump (e.g., DBSQL_SQL_ERROR) or the system fails to start. The ST22 dump and the work process traces (dev_w*) report the following specific error sequence:
Main Error: no connection data found for key (DEFAULT) in HANA secure store 
Return Codes: * connect via secure store failed, rc = -10757
Connect to database failed, rc=-10909, rcSQL=-10757
Trace Information:
SQLERRTEXT : Secure store error: Interfaces/SecureStore/impl/UserProfilePath.cpp:771 - (91001) 'uid' failed, rc=111:Connection refused
