3747455 - "Navigation is not supported" error in app Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers after CFD 2602.02

Symptom

Two distinct issues may occur within the cost center accounting area following the update:

  1. Navigation Error: When executing actual cost rate calculation (Cost Center with Schedule Overhead Account jobs) or clicking the "Display Splitting Result" button in the app Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers, the following error appears:

    "Navigation is not supported for your user on this device. Please open an incident on the application component."

  2. Log Access Error: When attempting to view logs for jobs executed before the update in the app Schedule Overhead Accounting Jobs, the system displays:

    "Sorry, we can't find this page" "Unspecified provider error occurred. See Error Context and Call Stack"

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

For Symptom 1: Following the CFD 2602.02 update, a new version of the application replaced the previous iteration. While the new IAM (Identity and Access Management) apps are automatically included in existing business roles, they are not activated by default.

For Symptom 2: The replacement of the application has caused a defect where logs generated by the legacy version of the app are no longer accessible. Previous logs are incompatible with the current application structure.

Resolution

Fixing the Navigation Error

Identify Affected Roles

  1. Access the app IAM Information System.

  2. Select IAM App from the Main Entity dropdown.

  3. Search for the IAM App: Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers (New Version).

  4. Navigate to the IAM App - Business Role tab to identify all business roles currently assigned to this application.

Activate the Application

  1. Open the identified Business Role.

  2. Navigate to the IAM Apps tab.

  3. Locate the entry for Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers (New Version).

  4. Select Edit, set the app status to Active, and Save the changes.


Note on Best Practices: New IAM Apps are included in business roles automatically but remain inactive to prevent unintended access changes. Manual activation is required as a standard security procedure.

Handling Log Access Issues

It is not possible to view previous logs directly in the application due to the system defect.

  • If critical information must be retrieved from a previous log, please create a support case under the application component: CO-OM-ACT-F-2CL.
