3747541 - Error 400 when Editing Employment Details in Latest People Profile ("No Permission to Perform this Operation")

• In the Latest People Profile, editing a record in the "Employment details" section in pencil edit fails.
• Error message: "Looks like something went wrong. Please try again. If the issue persists, contact your system administrator. Error code: 400."
• The help icon shows: "No permission to perform this operation."
• The issue is observed in the Latest People Profile and does not occur with the legacy people profile configuration.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Open an employee’s profile.
2. Select the Employment details section and enter edit mode.
3. Observe error code 400 and the message under the help icon: "No permission to perform this operation."

• The user making the changes does not have sufficient RBP permission to update the employee's Employment Details
• For employment details edit, the system currently does not consider the "Employment Details" edit permission sufficient when editing from the employment details portlet
• The "Employment Details MSS" edit permission is also required for this

1. Use the Role-Based Permissions (RBP) troubleshooting tool to verify whether the user has the Employment Details MSS permission for the target population.
2. If missing, add the Employment Details MSS permission to the appropriate permission role.
3. Ensure the user is included in the role’s target population that covers the employees whose Employment details they need to edit.
4. Save the RBP changes and issue a permission refresh if required.
5. Retest: Edit and save the Employment details in the Latest People Profile and confirm the error no longer occurs.
