• A user is assigned to a permission group, but the system does not read/apply the permissions.
• Permissions are recognized only after removing the user from the group and adding the user back to the same group.
• The behavior can occur across multiple permission groups for the same user.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Assign a user to a permission group.
2. Checked RBP troubleshooting tool and observe that the system does not read or apply the permissions.

• The user has multiple employments under the same person record.
• Permission groups are employment-based, not person-based, the group membership was bound to an inactive or previous employment.
• The system does not automatically rebind permission group assignments when a user changes or gains a new employment.

Please do the following checks:

1. Verify whether the user has multiple employments (for example, via RBP troubleshooting or user data review).
2. Identify which employment the permission group membership is currently bound to.
3. If the membership is bound to an inactive/previous employment, remove the user from the permission group and add the user back to rebind the membership to the active employment.
4. After any employment change (for example, change of worker type or adding a new employment), review and re-add permission group assignments as needed to ensure they bind to the correct active employment.
5. Implement an operational check to periodically audit permission group memberships for users with multiple employments.

Note:Be aware there is currently no automated/system-level fix for automatic rebinding; this is a system limitation.
