3747633 - Objective Modification Notification Email Displays Manager's Goal URL Instead of Employee's Goal URL

Symptom

Objective Modification Notification emails sent to managers contain a goal (objective) URL that redirects to the manager’s goal plan instead of the employee’s objective that was modified.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Sign in to the instance with appropriate permissions.
  2. Act as an employee and open the Goals/Objective section.
  3. Edit an objective in an active goal plan (for example, change the name and status) and save.
  4. Review the “Objective Modification Notification” received by the employee’s manager.
  5. Observe that the link in the email opens the manager’s goals instead of the employee’s goals.

Cause

This behavior is standard system design.

Resolution

Note that this is expected behavior. The notification sent to a manager includes a goal link that resolves to the manager’s goal page when links are enabled..

The supported options are:

Option 1: Raise an Enhancement Request

Option 2: Remove the Objective Link from the Notification

Disable the goal/objective link in the notification as per SAP guidance - Adding or Removing Goal Links in Email Notifications | SAP Help Portal

This avoids confusion caused by redirecting managers to their own goal plans.
