Symptom
- In an environment updated to 1H 2026, a user without the "access to non‑secured object" permission cannot open an associated MDF object detail which is linked to one MDF object field.
- The following messages can appear: "No Permission For xxx".
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the employee profile and navigate to a section containing a field which is mapped to a custom MDF object configured.
- Make sure the mapped MDF has the setting of Secured=No.
- Click the detail button or add new button of the field.
- Observe that the system shows a permission error.
Cause
After 1H 2026, the security has been enhanced for non-secured MDF object.
When accessing or modifying an associated MDF object from another MDF object, the permission "access to non‑secured object" will be required if the associated MDF is a non-secured object(Secured=No).
Resolution
If you would like to keep the MDF as non-secured temporarily, grant the Role‑Based Permission "access to non‑secured object" to the relevant permission role and users.
Best Practise: recommend to change the affected MDF object configuration to Secured=Yes.
- After setting Secured=Yes, grant appropriate View and/or Edit permissions to the object based on business needs via Role‑Based Permissions.
- Test with a user in scope to confirm the value help opens as expected and permissions are enforced as designed.
- Plan to migrate away from non‑secured objects to ensure compatibility with the latest employee profile.
