Symptom

  • Database went down.
  • Fault Manager was unable to complete the automatic failover.
  • HADR operation "sap_failover ... unplanned" reported "** Message: failed".
  • RMA failover task SimplePersistentQueueForceSendAll failed for one database: "Failed performing command - admin who, 'spq', ...".
  • Error message and code: "JZ00B: Numeric overflow."
  • Stack trace references: com.sybase.jdbc42.jdbc.SybResultSet.getInt, SimplePersistentQueueForceSendAll.postExecute.
  • ODBC connectivity errors at outage detection: "There is no server listening at :.", "Client unable to establish a connection.", "Connection refused."
  • FM control reported: "unexpected result from sap_status task." and "LiveDatabaseUpdate failed (sapdbctrl exit code = 1)".
