Symptom
- Can't use filters in dashboard reports.
- Error message when clicking the filter: "The access validation is failed! Permission check failed"
- Error message may also appear as: "The access validation is failed!"

Reproducing the Issue
- Proxy as a non-admin user.
- Go to a tile-based dashboard (for example, a recruiter dashboard) in Report Center.
- Click the filter icon in the upper right corner.
- Observe the error.
Cause
Post-2511 behavior change: On tile-based dashboards where the user does not have permission to at least one tile included in the dashboard (that is, roles grant access to only specific tiles under Reports Permission > Analytics Tiles and Dashboard, not “All”), performing the filter action fails with “The access validation is failed!” for non-admin users.
Resolution
- Review the user’s role(s) in Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles.
- Under Reports Permission > Analytics Tiles and Dashboard, choose one of the following:
- Grant “All” tiles and dashboards access to the affected role; or
- Ensure every individual tile that is part of the dashboard is explicitly selected for the role.
- If granting “All” is not acceptable, adjust dashboard composition:
- Remove tiles the role is not permitted to view from the shared dashboard; or
- Create and share a copy of the dashboard that includes only tiles permitted for the role.
- Save changes, have the user sign out and sign in again, then re-test the filter action on the dashboard.
