3748454 - Custom dimensions as alternative to SAP-provided dimension ID limit in SCT

Symptom

  • Custom value IDs added to SAP-provided dimensions are restricted to a maximum of 10 characters.

  • Error message appears when attempting to create a value ID exceeding 10 characters: "Enter a text with a maximum of 10 characters and spaces.".

  • Meaningful or business-relevant IDs cannot be assigned when extending SAP-provided dimensions such as Gas Type (ID_GAS_TYPE).
