Symptom

  • When third‑party cookies are allowed in the browser, using Proxy shows the message: "There's an active session on another tab. If you have any unsaved data on this page, close this message and copy the data. Then, close this tab."
  • After the warning, a page displays: "The requested operation is not available. You are not authorized to access the functionality you have requested."
  • When third‑party cookies are blocked, Proxy works but affects Story Reports access

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the system
  2. Go to Proxy Now
  3. Proxy as any user
  4. Observe the popup: "There's an active session on another tab. If you have any unsaved data on this page, close this message and copy the data. Then, close this tab."
  5. After redirect, observe: "The requested operation is not available. You are not authorized to access the functionality you have requested."

Cause

Misconfigured Learning SSO endpoints for Assertion Consumer Service and Logout URLs.

Resolution

  1. Review the Learning SSO configuration in the identity provider/provisioning for SuccessFactors Learning (Authorized Assertion Consumer Service and Logout settings)
  2. Update the endpoints to the correct Learning paths:
    • Assertion Consumer Service must end with /learning/saml/SSO
    • Logout URL must end with /learning/saml/SingleLogout
  1. Save and propagate the configuration
  2. Clear browser cache and cookies
  3. Ensure third‑party cookies are allowed (required for Story Reports)
  4. Sign in, open Story Reports to confirm access, then use Proxy Now to proxy as a user and verify the warning no longer appears and access is authorized
