3748623 - Target Population Enforcement for Rehire Inactive Employee - Onboarding

You can now enforce target population restrictions for Rehire Inactive Employee (by match in New Hire) and Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by match in New Hire) permissions in Onboarding. This update ensures that Onboarding respects the target population settings defined for the relevant Employee Central permissions when processing rehire matches, both for old and new employment

Enablement steps

• To ensure that Onboarding respects the target population settings defined for the relevant Employee Central permissions when processing rehire matches, both for old and new employment, enable:
  • Admin Center > Manage Data > Hire/Rehire Configuration > MATCHINGUSERCONFIG > Take Action > Make Correction > set Enable target population for rehire on old employment = Yes.
  • Admin Center > Manage Data > Hire/Rehire Configuration > MATCHINGUSERCONFIG > Take Action > Make Correction > set Enable target population for rehire on new employment = Yes.

Feature description: Target Population Enforcement for Rehire Inactive Employee

• Administrators can enable the new settings Enable target population for rehire on old employment and Enable target population for rehire on new employment in Manage Data.
• When enabled, the system checks the rehire coordinator’s target population before allowing them to accept a rehire match, preventing unauthorized access to employee data.
• This change applies to all in-flight onboarding candidates as well.
• Administrators and rehire coordinators benefit from unified permissions between Employee Central and Onboarding for rehire coordinators, as the system now consistently enforces target population restrictions across both Employee Central and Onboarding rehire processes, reducing administrative overhead and permission mismatches.

• If you have customized your system permissions to skip the rehire check, this functionality will not work as expected.

Role-Based Permission:

• To allow the hiring manager to rehire an inactive employee with new employment by "Match", go to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles > <Permission Role Name> > Permissions > Manage Hires > and enable the Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by "Match" in New Hire) permission.
• To allow the hiring manager to rehire an inactive employee on old employment by "Match", go to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles > <Permission Role Name> > Permissions > Manage Hires > and enable the Rehire Inactive Employee (by "Match" in New Hire) permission.

Changes from previous version

• In the current version, when the Enable target population for rehire on old employment and Enable target population for rehire on new employment settings are enabled, Onboarding adopts the Employee Central target population permissions that restrict rehire coordinator access. This streamlines the system permissions for customers using both applications.
• In the previous version, Onboarding respected target population during rehire verification using responsible groups and/or roles.
