3748654 - Address Validation for the New Mailing Address

Symptom

The Validate Address button is available on:

  • Account
  • Individual Customer

However, while adding a new Mailing Address during Move‑In – Step 3, the Validate Address button is not visible.

Environment

  • Product: SAP Service Cloud Version 2
  • Integration: SAP Digital Address Management (DQM) for SAP Sales and Service Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to the SAP Service Cloud Version 2 tenant.
  2. Navigate to System Settings → All Settings → Communication Configurations.
  3. Search for Integrate Address with SAP DQM.
  4. Observe that:
    • The communication configuration template exists.
    • No additional feature settings or UI configuration related to Move‑In address validation are available.

Cause

This behavior is by design and is related to how SAP DQM integration works in SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Based on the official SAP documentation:

  • The Validate Address button is available on standard object pages (for example, Individual Customer – Create/Edit).
  • During the Move‑In process, address validation is not triggered by a separate button.
  • When SAP DQM is correctly:
    • Licensed
    • Provisioned
    • Configured
The address validation is executed automatically after the user selects Next in Move‑In Step 3.

If SAP DQM is not provisioned or not fully configured, the automatic validation screen will not appear.

Resolution

The absence of a Validate Address button while adding a new Mailing Address during Move‑In – Step 3 is the expected behavior. No feature switch, adaptation, or UI configuration exists to enable an additional button in this step.
If SAP DQM is correctly configured and provisioned, an address validation screen is displayed automatically when the Next button is pressed.

See Also

This screen will not appear if the DQM is not currently configured.

To verify SAP DQM Integration Configuration, ensure that all required configuration steps from the official SAP documentation (attached in the document) are completed.

The Address validation visibility for the Account and Individual Customer screens depends entirely on successful SAP DQM provisioning and activation.
