3749149 - Error: "Price change not allowed as Follow-on document exists"

Symptom

When you change a purchase requisition in your SAP Ariba Buying realm, new versions of the purchase requisition and its corresponding purchase order are not generated. This occurs due to an SAP ERP error message Price change not allowed as Follow-on document exists (ARBCIG_MESSAGE), which appears in the PurchaseOrderChangeAsyncResponsePullRequest payload in your Managed Gateway for Spend&Network.
