Symptom
- During SAP test execution in Tosca Cloud, you may encounter the error “Pipe is broken”. This occurs when the communication channel between Tosca components is unexpectedly interrupted.
-
The “Pipe is broken” error occurs when Tosca attempts to communicate with another process (such as the Tosca Cloud Agent, browser, or SAP GUI), but the receiving process is no longer available. This typically happens when the execution environment becomes unstable or a required component terminates unexpectedly.
Common contributing factors include:
- Tosca Cloud Agent stops or restarts during execution
- Network interruptions, VPN disconnects, or proxy/firewall timeouts
- SAP GUI or browser crashes during test execution
- Execution timeouts due to slow application response
- Insufficient system resources (CPU or memory) on the execution machine
- Outdated Tosca Automation extensions or Launcher components
Note: This is an infrastructure-related issue and not caused by the test script itself.
