3750317 - Missing Role-Based Permissions when selecting Target Roles in Configure Latest People Profile – Employee Central

• Only a limited set of permission roles is visible when editing a category in Configure Latest People Profile using the pencil icon.
• Expected permission roles for assignment are missing and cannot be selected, although the relevant categories are considered.
• No error message is displayed.

1. Navigate to Configure Latest People Profile.
2. Open a category (for example, Personal Data) and select the pencil icon to edit target roles.
3. Review the list of permission roles offered for selection.
4. Observe that some expected permission roles are missing and not available for assignment.

This behavior is expected in SAP SuccessFactors releases 2511 and earlier versions.

When configuring category permissions in Configure Latest People Profile, only permission roles that are not marked as “RBP-Only” are available for selection in the target roles dropdown list. Roles configured as “RBP-Only” can only be managed and assigned through Manage Permission Roles and therefore do not appear in the People Profile category permission configuration.

Starting from the 2605 release, this behavior changes. When a category is configured to use Role-Based Permissions (RBP), the system automatically creates a corresponding permission within the RBP framework. This permission can then be assigned to any RBP role, including roles previously restricted as “RBP-Only”.

As a result, the “RBP-Only” limitation for People Profile category permissions will no longer apply from release 2605 onward.
