Symptom
When validating a connection in SAP Datasphere, the following warning is displayed:
“Could not find tunnel connection in Analytics (SAC)”
Customers may also observe that:
- The warning appears in one tenant (for example PROD) but not in another (for example DEV)
- No SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration is configured or used
- All required connection functionalities continue to work correctly
Environment
- SAP Datasphere
- SAP Analytics Cloud (optional integration scenarios)
Cause
The warning message is related to the optional integration capabilities between SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
During connection validation, SAP Datasphere performs generic validation checks across all potential capabilities associated with the connection, including SAC-related features such as tunnel connectivity.
If SAC integration is not configured, the system may display the warning:
“Could not find tunnel connection in Analytics (SAC)”
This behavior is expected.
Differences between tenants (for example DEV vs PROD) can occur due to:
- Different feature flags or enabled capabilities
- Different update or patch levels
- Different rollout timing of backend services
- Optional background service configurations related to SAC integration
As a result, one tenant may display additional validation warnings while another may not.
Resolution
No action is required if SAP Analytics Cloud integration is not used.
The warning can be safely ignored as long as:
- Data Flows function correctly
- Replication Flows function correctly
- Remote Tables function correctly
- No SAC integration scenario is planned
This warning does not indicate a functional issue with the connection itself.
If SAC integration is planned in the future, the required SAC tunnel connectivity must be configured accordingly.
