3750822 - No new delta postings generated after rerunning consolidation following changes to elimination configuration

After changing elimination-related configuration such as Elimination Selection, Elimination Target, or Reclassification Method in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, rerunning the consolidation tasks does not generate new delta postings. The system displays messages such as "Result is the same as before", and previously posted consolidation results remain unchanged although configuration changes were applied.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Run consolidation for multiple periods.
2. Change Elimination Selections and Elimination Targets in configuration.
3. Unblock the relevant tasks in the Consolidation Monitor app.
4. Attempt to rerun the elimination/consolidation tasks for those periods.
5. Observe the message: "Results are the same as before. No delta documents posted."

Group Reporting uses delta posting logic during consolidation processing.

When consolidation tasks are rerun, the system recalculates the result based on the current configuration and compares it with the data already stored in ACDOCU.

New postings are only generated if the recalculated result creates an effective delta compared to existing posted data.

In some scenarios, configuration changes may not immediately create a new delta because:

• the updated configuration does not impact the current dataset,
• dependent periods/processes have not yet been rerun.

Additionally, changes affecting year-end balances or elimination logic may require rerunning prior fiscal periods before executing subsequent periods again.

The setting:

"No Delta Documents"

changes the posting behavior from delta posting to reposting behavior during task execution, but does not itself retroactively reset already processed consolidation periods.

If changes were made to elimination-related configuration and expected results are not reflected:

1. Identify whether the configuration change should create a different consolidation result for the affected dataset
2. If prior fiscal year closing periods are affected:
   rerun the relevant prior periods first (for example fiscal year-end period 012)
3. Execute dependent follow-on processes again as required, such as:
   Balance Carryforward
   Net Income Calculation
   Currency Translation
   Consolidation tasks
4. Rerun the relevant consolidation tasks in update mode

The system will generate new postings only if an effective delta exists after recalculation.
