Symptom

  • Using ABAPAdapter-based remote sources.
  • After upgrading the Data Provisioning Agent, adding new columns to source tables causes related virtual tables to stop working until a metadata refresh is performed.
  • Error thrown in the terminal:
    Could not execute '<SQL statement>'
    Error: (dberror) 403 - internal error: Error opening the cursor for the remote database Validation of virtual table for <VT> failed with the reason: number of columns differs : <n> vs. <m> for query "<SQL statement>"
