3751072 - Edit button missing for custom mdf on latest people profile when parent has no visible fields

• After enabling “Enable the latest Viewing, Editing, and History UI on Full Profile (With Non-Configurable UI)”, the Edit button is missing for a custom MDF card on People Profile.
• In a parent–child custom MDF setup, if the parent MDF has no visible fields (for example, externalName is set to Not Visible), the Edit button does not appear on the summary card or the View All page.
• If externalName is Visible but no value is maintained, the Edit button is missing on the summary card but appears after selecting View All.
• If externalName is Visible and a value is maintained, the Edit button appears on the summary card.
• Disabling the latest edit UI for People Profile restores the Edit button.

1. Configure a parent–child custom MDF. Set the parent MDF to type “None" for Effective Start Date and ensure the parent has no visible fields (for example, set externalName to Not Visible).
2. Add the parent (with child) as a custom MDF card on Latest People Profile.
3. Enable “Enable the latest Viewing, Editing, and History UI on Full Profile (With Non-Configurable UI)” for People Profile.
4. Open a user’s People Profile and navigate to the custom MDF card and create a new data for this MDF.
5. Observe that the Edit button is missing on the summary card; select View All and observe the Edit button is still missing.

• A release defect in the latest People Profile edit UI causes the Edit button to be hidden when the parent MDF has no visible field (for example, externalName set to Not Visible), particularly when the parent MDF is of type “None Effective Start Date”.

1. The issue will be fixed via Patch on May 12th.
2. Workaround: Temporarily uncheck “Enable the latest Viewing, Editing, and History UI on Full Profile (With Non-Configurable UI)” to restore the Edit button.
3. Workaround: Ensure the parent MDF has at least one visible field on the card (for example, set externalName to Visible and maintain a value) so the Edit button appears.
