3751281 - Dependents additional info - dependent type BCUI configuration validation behavior in PPX & PP3

Symptom

In PP3, with missing configuration – missing CSF fields in Global info dependent type in BCUI, system does not let you save/add new info in additional details. You get an error - “There is no dependent-specific data available for this country/region. This can be changed in the Manage Business Configuration UI. Or it could be that you are missing the correct permissions”

In PPX, with the same missing CSF fields in Global info dependent type in BCUI, when adding details, system lets you save the record, without any error.

Reproducing the Issue

BCUI > Global info_FRA > Global info_FRA_dependent > Enabled - YES but none of the HRIS fields are enabled for this dependent type.

PP3 - Legacy people profile behavior:

Go to user profile > dependents info > edit > as of today > edit details for existing record > add global info > country/region – choose France > get error –

“There is no dependent-specific data available for this country/region. This can be changed in the Manage Business Configuration UI. Or it could be that you are missing the correct permissions. For more information, see the documentation”

PPX - Latest people profile behavior:

Go to user profile > dependents info > edit > as of today > edit details for existing record > add global info > country/region – choose France > saved successfully.

Cause

This is an Expected behavior as per Product design.

Resolution

This behavior in PPX is by design. PPX respects the BCUI configuration without adding extra special handling, unlike PP3.

For customers who would like to achieve similar error messaging in PPX as they see in PP3, you can create a business rule as follows.
