Symptom
- Multi-stage Inventory Optimization (MSIO) is run without any min/max SS constraints and Recommended Safety Stock (RSS) is calculated.
- Then min/max SS constraints are set, using I_MINSAFETYSTOCK and I_MAXSAFETYSTOCK (SAPIBP2) or IOMINSAFETYSTOCK and IOMAXSAFETYSTOCK (SAPIBP1), and MSIO is run again.
- The result is that RSS changes occur in periods other than where the original RSS exceeded the maximum safety stock constraint in the first place, which is unexpected.
- That is to say, key figure I_DELTAMINMAXSAFETYSTOCK (SAPIBP2) or SAFETYSTOCKMINMAXDELTA are <> 0 in periods where it is unexpected.
- The original unconstrained SS exceeded the I_MAXSAFETYSTOCK/IOMAXSAFETYSTOCK in only a couple of periods in the optimization horizon.
