Symptom

  • How to undo migration for financial statement version to manage global hierarchies;
  • Attempting to delete a semantic tag shows an error that the semantic tag is already in use in a financial statement version item.

Environment

  • Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
  • Hierarchy Applications in General Ledger (Public Cloud)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create or assign a custom semantic tag to a financial statement version (FSV).
  2. Migrate the FSV to Global Hierarchies.
  3. In Global Hierarchies, remove the semantic tag assignment from the migrated hierarchy.
  4. Try to delete the semantic tag in the Define Semantic Tags for Financial Statement Version configuration.
  5. Observe an error stating the semantic tag is already in use in an FSV item and deletion is blocked.

Cause

Resolution

  1. Open the configuration activity Migrate Financial Statement Versions to Global Hierarchies.
  2. Open the details for hierarchy type FSVN.
  3. Use the filter to show migrated hierarchies.
  4. Select the migrated hierarchy to be reverted.
  5. Choose Undo Migration.
  6. Confirm the Undo Migration action.
  7. After the undo completes, delete or adjust the semantic tag in the financial statement version as required.
  8. If needed, redo the migration to Global Hierarchies from the same configuration activity.
