Symptom
- Unable to add a business email address that includes an apostrophe (').
- On the Latest People Profile, the email field shows the error: "Please enter valid email address."
Environment
- Product: SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- People Profile - Full Profile
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the employee’s People Profile.
- Go to Contact Information.
- Add a new business email address that contains an apostrophe (for example, first'last@domain).
- Attempt to save. The system shows "Please enter valid email address."
- Remove the apostrophe and save again. The save succeeds.
Cause
- Product defect in the Latest People Profile editing UI for Employee Central HRIS elements, where email validation incorrectly rejected apostrophes.
Resolution
- A code correction has been delivered to resolve the incorrect email validation so that apostrophes are accepted. This iwlll be deployed as part of 2H2026 release.
- Temporary workaround (if immediate action is required before the fix is available in your environment): In Configure Latest People Profile > General Settings, temporarily disable the setting that enables the latest editing/viewing UI for Employee Central HRIS elements on Full Profile, save the email address with the apostrophe, and then re-enable the setting after saving.
