Symptom

  • The indexserver service constantly restarts throughout the day.
  • Alert ID 4: “Restarted Service” is raised repeatedly (up to many times per day).
  • Daemon trace shows: “Process ‘hdbindexserver’ exited because it caught signal 9”.
  • OS messages show memory pressure events, for example: “invoked oom-killer”, “oom_kill_process”, and “Out of memory: Killed process (hdbindexserver)”.
