• Data access control is enabled on dimensions: account, company code, and profit center.
• Data entry is performed at account level with one profit center selected at a time.
• Error message: “Data can't be changed because it is for one or more members that are outside of the planning area of this version. The members come from the following dimensions: XXXX.”

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Sign in with a user having the planner reporter role.
2. Open the planning story that contains the input-enabled table.
3. Enter data in the input measure for a future period.
4. Observe the error: “Data can't be changed because it is for one or more members that are outside of the planning area of this version. The members come from the following dimensions: XXXX”

1. In the story, select the input-enabled table and enable “Auto-Generate Planning Area Based on Table Context” in the builder panel for the recommended planning area. Test data entry again.
2. If data locking is used, redeploy the model and assign at least “Read” permission in data locking to the relevant team(s) so users can see lock states and avoid unintended non-editable cells. Test data entry again.
3. Refer to the data locking checkpoints and configuration guidance to ensure locks and permissions are correctly set.
