3751968 - material number ranges: deleting predefined intervals and assignment limits per material type (sscui 102282) – SAP s/4hana cloud public edition

• Configuring material number ranges with external number assignment and planning to use only one material type (for example, HAWA).
• Default number ranges in the public cloud system appear non-deletable; user wants to remove other number range types so material codes can start from 1.
• In SSCUI 102282 “Number Ranges for Each Material Type”, after selecting Intervals (change/pencil), the menu path to delete intervals is missing.
• Questions raised: whether predefined number ranges can be deleted, and whether multiple number ranges can be assigned to a single material type.

1. Open the app “Manage Your Solution”.
2. Search for the SSCUI “Number Ranges for Each Material Type” (SSCUI 102282).
3. Click the “Intervals” (change/pencil) button.
4. Observe that the menu path to delete intervals is missing.

• Standard system behavior: deletion of number range intervals is not available in SSCUI/Configuration Activity 102282 “Number Ranges for Each Material Type”.

1. Deletion of predefined number range intervals is not supported in SSCUI 102282; do not attempt to remove delivered intervals.
2. To start numbering from a desired value (for example, from 1) or to apply your own format, create a new custom number range interval (for example, with a Z identifier) and assign it to the required material type.

3. Ensure that a single material type has at most one internal and one external number range assigned.
4. Make sure the new interval does not overlap with any existing interval; overlapping ranges cannot be saved.
5. If needed, assign the same number range to different material types; that is supported.
