3752004 - How to Disable the 3 Hours Limit for OData API Trace in OData API Monitor

Symptom

The OData API Trace configured in the OData API Monitor is automatically deactivated after approximately 3 hours.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the SAP C4C tenant
  2. Navigate to Administrator
  3. Select General Settings
  4. Open OData API Monitor
  5. Click on "Activate OData Trace".
  6. Wait 3 hours without manually disabling the trace.
  7. Refresh the OData API Monitor screen.
  8. Observe that the OData Trace is automatically deactivated by the system.

Cause

The OData API Trace logs detailed inbound requests and response payloads, which may generate significant system load and impact overall tenant performance if kept active for extended periods.
For this reason, the system automatically disables the trace after 3 hours.

Resolution

The OData API Trace is automatically deactivated after approximately 3 hours by system design.
Changes to this behavior can be requested through the SAP Customer Influence Portal.
