3752395 - opportunity activity sales phase not synchronized with header

Symptom

You notice that there is a mismatch between the Sales Phase at the Opportunity header and the Sales Phase in the Appointment (Activity) within the same opportunity.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the work center Sales → Opportunities.
  2. Open an existing opportunity. Note the sales phase in the header.
  3. Go to the Activities tab.
  4. Confirm an appointment or other activity exists with the same sales phase.
  5. Change the Opportunity Sales Phase to a different one.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Observe that the activity's sales phase is not updated.

Resolution

The Sales Phase shown for an activity in the opportunity’s Activities tab is a snapshot taken at the time the activity was created and does not update when the opportunity header Sales Phase changes. It is stored against this activity that is considered specific to that sales phase.
