3752397 - How to Enable TLS 1.3 by using SUN cryptography in REST Adapter

Symptom

  • An error occurs when using the REST receiver adapter with the IAIK cryptographic library after the remote endpoint enforces TLS 1.3 only.
  • Error message: "iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: user sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure."
  • Error message: "Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure."
  • Message transmission fails with "com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException ... handshake failure."
  • Application and adapter framework logs show "Exception caught by adapter framework: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException ... handshake failure."
